Christmas Tree Garland

piece of garland made from magazines, catalogs, and old Christmas cards

Continuing with the paper crafting...this tree garland is really fun to make and the kids love to roll the beads and/or string them.  Trust me, this is MUCH better than stringing popcorn and cranberries!  Well...I did like eating the popcorn...

cut strips of paper into tapered triangle shapes...the wider the piece, the wider the bead...the longer the piece, the fatter the bead...

roll the strip onto tool...I use a double-pointed knitting needle, but you can use a pencil, pen, chopstick etc...the wider the tool  is the bigger the hole for stringing...

add some glue (glue sticks work best, but I can't find mine) to the end of the strip and continue to roll... and voila!

a perfectly wonderful bead

string with yarn or thread...I use a darning needle

also...magazine tree update...

K5 spray painted his tree red and it looks great
