saw a recipe in the sunday financial times for a guilt free digestive biscuit...that's my kind of snack...and one from one of my favorite food people, rose carrarini, co-owner of the rose bakery in paris...love her cookbook...breakfast*lunch*tea

ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 1/4 cup whole-wheat flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 1/4 sticks of unsalted butter...from the fridge and cut into pieces
4 Tbs dark brown sugar
4 Tbs honey

pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
mix dry ingredients together
rub in chilled butter until it resembles breadcrumbs(as you would when making a pastry)
add sugar and honey and work mix until you get a dough-like consistency
roll out on floured surface to 1/8inch-ish thickness
cut into rounds and bake until golden brown
let cool before eating...good luck

(there are such things as good mistakes....I did not have enough honey and substituted pure maple syrup for the missing honey and it made a richly superb biscuit)

yes...only four biscuits left...I took Rose's advice and snacked all day
